Members of Hanham District Green Belt Conservation Society were proud to decorate one of a dozen trees at Hanham Methodist Church during the weekend. The society joined local groups that regularly use the church premises who were invited to decorate a tree.
On Saturday afternoon, the church stepped in to host the Santa’s Grotto for the Hanham High Street traders as the street fair was unfortunately cancelled. The event was well-attended by many parents and children who explored the enchanting trees and made use of the play area.
The decorated tree is helping to raise awareness of the society within the community and highlight our new campaign to "Save Hanham Green Belt"
The beautifully decorated trees are still in the church and can be seen when the Beacon Café opens again on Thursday 7th December. The café is a community cafe run by ‘we are BS15’ and primarily staffed by volunteers.
